Our Location/Online Classes
Plum Tree Education is an online school.
Our classes run through real-time, virtual classroom meetings via Microsoft Teams. Students get workbooks delivered directly to their homes, so that they can follow along, correct their work, and do assigned homework. Teachers work on an online whiteboard, where students can follow along. Classes may briefly use group work/breakout rooms, in order to encourage participation, real-time problem solving, collaboration, and become more comfortable with their classmates.
Why online?
Student Convenience
Many parents and student prefer the convenience of taking an online class, in order to avoid overlap with our classes, and commuting time during peak traffic hours. Additionally, it allows students and parents to rest before starting their extra-curriculars.
Teacher Convenience
Our teachers often work during the day either at the elementary, high school, or undergraduate level. As such, working from home allows them to bring their best, and most rested selves to work.
Small-School Cost
We are a small school. Being fully online allows us to keep our operating costs low, thus providing you with the best learning materials and experience.
